Events Overview
GardenScape offers a variety of events to complement and aid in the enjoyment of its displays. There is always a lot to see and do. You could watch an expert tend a bonsai specimen, or see a master builder construct a natural stone wall.
Preview Reception
Before the public opening of the show, Wednesday night's Preview Reception offers the opportunity to stroll through the gardens and enjoy hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and live music in a relaxed atmosphere. This reception raises funds to benefit The Epilepsy Foundation, and tickets for the event are available in advance through the Foundation or at Wegmans. Read more about this Reception.
Masquerade Ball
The Masquerade Ball is a new and popular event within show week. Come see the garden show Friday night; stay on to join the festivities - costume or not! Learn more.
Early Bird Breakfast Tour
Want a more concentrated look around the display gardens, with an opportunity to pick the brains of the landscape designers? Our Early Bird Breakfast Tours on Friday or Saturday mornings may be just your chance to leisurely view the exhibits before the rush of the public show hours.
The program runs from 7am until 9am, and you'll start your morning at the show with a casual, light continental breakfast. Master Gardeners from the Monroe County Cooperative Extension will gather attendees into groups for a guided tour of the gardens. Our exhibitors will be on hand to answer questions and describe their work. Remain to see more of the show, or return later in the day - the Tour ticket includes that day's admission to GardenScape.
Seminars and Lectures
Hear the latest about plants and technique from national and local garden experts. GardenScape provides a full program of speakers on a variety of topics. Talks are held each hour each of the four show days. Seminars are free with show admission. As the show approaches, this web site will list the seminar topics and times.
Performances
Pleasant surprises and interesting diversions are found amid our gardens. GardenScape always includes intriquing and entertaining performances; in the past featuring glass blowing from Corning Glass, dancers, ethnic music, simple stage plays, and musical delights.
The stage will also be the location for the Design Challenge.
Children's garden
Our Children's garden will be the site of fun activities during selected hours of the show.
